For some reason I think I’m gonna be waiting for a while. A 890kg sports car with 197HP from a Ducati engine with oodles of carbon fiber sounds just about perfect in my book. It’s not a McLaren P1 GTR, but I bet you could have way more fun in this on the street than something with 1000HP

Nice R8

I think you’ll be waiting for quite a while.

But it’s so much better than an R8 (maybe). If it’s more fun to drive a slow car fast than it is to drive a fast car slow, then this is the best of both worlds. Not particularly amazing performance, but same power as a BRZ in car that weighs 300kg less. A carbon fiber monocoque is gonna give it a rigid chassis and the engine would rev up to 11,000RPM which sounds amazing. This car isn’t fast, but the sensation of speed would be awesome.

I won’t budge from my post until we get this VW, the new RX-7 and a mid engine corvette

Well... We’re lucky if we get the econobox version of that. And the next RX7 will probably be a hybrid to compete with the next generation of GTR which will probably be a hybrid too.

I would have loved this. failing it coming into exsistance,
aquire Autozam AZ-1, remove motor, install a honda gold wing motor in it with twin turbos (1800cc H6) proceed to hoon 2/3rds scale 911 with honda reliability

I meant a new rotary-powered RX-7 (I don’t actually think any of these cars are gonna happen)

Besides sounding beyond amazing, the rotary was flawed and probably isn’t coming back and that’s for the best.

That’s a superb idea, I love it!
I love the high power insane super ultra sports cars as much as the next guy, but simplify and add lightness is always a good strategy.

the stock ‘wing motor is rater for 118HP and 123ft-lbs of torque. I’m sure it can be boosted to 200 each with a pair for really small turbos. then straight pipe out the back

I fully understand that. RX-7787B, and that thing only won because every other team had a bad year.

A couple of tiny soda can sized turbos mounted like this would be amazing

I can hear the eurobeat from here

Too bad the Alfa 4C didn’t sell well because this is what you’d get to compete with it.

There’s probably no business case for such a vehicle, but I would still drive the crap out of something like that if it became reality. Substitute the bike motor for their 1.0L turbo three plus some electric motors in the image of the BMW i8 and you have something going.

Was this ever a plan? It looks like an XL1 photoshopped.
